Antichrist and Matthew 24

The Lord told me to read from II John tonight. One of the verses that caught my eye was II John 1:7.

Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
II John 1:7

I was curious about the word ‘antichrist so I went to the Strong’s Concordance and looked it up in the Greek.
#500  -  antichristos: antichrist, (one who opposes Christ)

So it means one that opposes Christ and according to the above mentioned verse it also means it’s someone who does not acknowledge Jesus Christ lived in a fleshly body.

I decided to see how many times the word ‘antichrist’ was used in the King James Bible and there were 3 more.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
I John 4:1-3

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
I John 2:18-23

I find it very interesting that in these verses it says ‘even now many antichrists have come’. That they knew they were antichrists because they left them and this showed they did not belong….because of this they were called antichrists’.

This is something I need to study because I always thought there was one ‘antichrist’ and he or she would come right before or during the Rapture.

But according to these passages there are ‘many’ and have already come. They also say that’s how they know it’s the last hour. So it’s been the ‘last hour’ for over 2,000 years.  (II Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.)

Then there’s  Matthew 24 ….. it’s interesting to see what some of the Greek words mean in this passage.

In this conversation it is hard to see what has already happened and what is yet to come but here’s one that has already happened.

1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

This conversation took place in 30AD and the temple was destroyed in 70AD, that’s 40 years after this conversation. I wonder why so many ignore this has already happened?

Then we continue in the conversation –

3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.

The first thing he says, after being questioned about the ‘end of the age’ is “watch out that no one deceives you.’ Now why would that be His first response? Maybe because He knew we could get too focused on something that will keep us from doing His will?
(Deceives is misled in the Greek - 4105 planáō – properly, go astray, get off-course; to deviate from the correct path (circuit, course), roaming into error, wandering; (passive) be misled.)

5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.

He goes on to tell them ‘see to it that you are not alarmed’.
(Alarmed is troubled and in the Greek - 2360 throéō (from throos, "clamor, tumult") – properly, unsettled (thrown into confusion, WS, 953); (figuratively) troubled (disturbed), wanting to "cry aloud, to scream (passive) because terrified" (WP, 1, 189); thrown into an "emotional uproar," i.e. very upset (alarmed, startled).)

So to me, it looks like we go astray as we listen to ….wars, rumors of wars. It can cause us to get into an emotional uproar, to be alarmed and this will get our focus off of ‘going into the world and making Disciples’ We begin to focus on, the end is here, it’s coming soon and that’s all we talk about – which is good for Christians to do with each other but not at the cost of leaving behind what God wants us to do. People that are not saved do not understand nor care about the coming of Christ.

Anyway He goes on to say:

Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.(still future happening)
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  (In the Greek Nation against nation - #1484 -  éthnos (from ethō, "forming a custom, culture") – properly, people joined by practicing similar customs or common culture; nation(s), usually referring to unbelieving Gentiles (non-Jews).
And Kingdom against kingdom - #932 -  (basileía) especially refers to the rule of Christ in believers' hearts – which is a rule that "one day will be universal on the physical earth in the Millennium" (G. Archer).
[The kingdom (932 /basileía) is constantly used in connection with the rule of Christ in the hearts of believers – which also extends in various stages.]

I found it very interesting that ‘kingdom’ is used in connection with the rule of Christ in the hearts of believers…..
Could this be the different denominations that fight against each other? How will God find faith when He returns if we still believe in a name – Baptist, Christian, Word of Faith, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholic, etc. are the only ‘true’ religion, have it all right?

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
(birth pains - 5604 (ōdín) suggests intense suffering (similar to birth pain) – hence, "to suffer greatly, great pain" (L & N, 1, 24.87) like "a birth-pang, travail-pain; figuratively, extreme suffering" (A-S).]
(He was talking to Disciples and they were persecuted and killed. So there were famines and earthquakes, the beginning of birth pains THEN they, the Disciples were handed over …)
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
(persecuted – tribulation - 2347 thlípsis – properly, pressure (what constricts or rubs together), used of a narrow place that "hems someone in"; tribulation, especially internal pressure that causes someone to feel confined (restricted, "without options").
2347 /thlípsis ("compression, tribulation") carries the challenge of coping with the internal pressure of a tribulation, especially when feeling there is "no way of escape" ("hemmed in").

10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

A false prophet – (5578 pseudoprophḗtēs (from 5571 /pseudḗs, "false" and 4396 /prophḗtēs, "a prophet") – properly, a false prophet; someone pretending to speak the word of the Lord (prophesy) but in fact is phony (an imposter), acting as a wolf in sheep's clothing.
5578 /pseudoprophḗtēs ("a false prophet") specializes in "the art of misimpression," like about how they were "commissioned" by the Lord to touch the world with their message. But when in fact, they operate by self and for self so they must be exposed for what they are – and are not!

This is clearly why we need discernment, to know God’s Word and His voice so we don’t listen to a stranger, a false prophet.

12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. – So those of us that believe must be the ones who stand firm with a warm love to the end!  This is ongoing until Christ returns.

wickedness is lawlessness – (458 anomía (from 1 /A "not" and 3551 /nómos, "law") – properly, without law;
lawlessness; the utter disregard for God's law (His written and living Word).

Love – (26 agápē – properly, love which centers in moral preference)
and
Cold – (5594 psýxō (originally, "to breathe out," cf. J. Thayer) – properly, "to blow, refresh with cool air" (Zod, Dict); (figuratively) "to breathe cool by blowing, to grow cold, 'spiritual energy blighted or chilled by a malign or poisonous wind')

Stands firm (endured - Cognate: 5278 hypoménō – literally, remaining under (the load), bearing up (enduring); for the believer, this uniquely happens by God's power)
And
Saved – (4982 sṓzō (from sōs, "safe, rescued") – properly, deliver out of danger and into safety; used principally of God rescuing believers from the penalty and power of sin – and into His provisions (safety).)

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Preached – (proclaimed - 2784 kērýssō – properly, to herald (proclaim); to preach (announce) a message publicly and with conviction (persuasion).
2784 /kērýssō ("to herald") refers to preaching the Gospel as the authoritative (binding) word of God, bringing eternal accountability to all who hear it.)
Good news – (the good news of the coming of the Messiah, the gospel; the gen. after it expresses sometimes the giver (God), sometimes the subject (the Messiah, etc.), sometimes the human transmitter (an apostle) - Cognate: 2098 euaggélion – the Gospel – literally, "God's good news." See 2097 (euangelizō). The Gospel (2098 /euaggélion) includes the entire Bible, i.e. it is not limited to how a person becomes a Christian.)
And End – (5056 télos (a neuter noun) – properly, consummation (the end-goal, purpose), such as closure with all its results.)

Now we’re back to things that have happened -

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ (it was a Roman General that sat on the throne in the temple before he destroyed the temple then he became an emperor)— Siege of Jerusalem 70AD----- spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—(His advice to them) 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the roof (1430 dṓma (from demō, "to build a house") – the roof-area of a flat-roof house. Flat housetops were ideal on hot summer nights for sleeping and passing on information "from one housetop to another.")    of his house go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.

Now is his command to flee for then or future? --where does he stop with what already happened and where does he go back into future events? The thing to remember is He tells us to not be alarmed, don’t believe liars because everyone will know when He comes back –

21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. 22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
30 “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation (what generation? The one He is talking to now – the Disciples?) will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

It sound like ‘when you see all these things is referring to ‘the sun will be darkened, moon not give it’s light, stars fall from the sky and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man
40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch (1127 grēgoreúō – literally, "stay awake"; (figuratively) be vigilant (responsible, watchful)., because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready (2092 hétoimos (from heteos, "fitting") – ready because prepared; "standing by," ready to meet the opportunity (challenge) at hand; ready because the necessary preparations are done (or are sure to happen as needed).)  , because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 24

So in verse 45.... with the ‘faithful and wise servant’.
for me, the bottom line is…….

I know God will return one day and for us Christians that is nothing to fear. It is for us to prepare, for as a body of believers. Non-believers do not need to hear this, they need to hear about the forgiveness, grace, mercy and love of Christ. He came for the sick not the healthy.

So, I believe, we are to be doing the works Christ came to do and told us to do while we wait for His return.
We are to be a light - "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

We need to truly become branches on the Vine – followers of Christ not of Baptist, Methodist, etc. We are one body and we need to be living in unity – encouraging, correcting, forgiving, and equipping each other to do the works God sends us to do.

We need to be in His word daily, in prayer and listening to Him so we know what He wants us to do, how He wants us to pray and give Him the glory.

I desire to be so full of the love of God that it overflows and is so bright people can’t miss it. I desire to give my testimony, my missing the mark and yet getting back up in the power and might of Jesus Christ to make the changes needed and to move forward again. I desire to give hope to people, the hope that can only come from God.

Christ’s return – sure, some day……but my desire and focus is to be doing my Father’s work so He will find faith on this earth.

The Bible is amazing and I’m beginning to understand why one must be in the Word daily!

Encouragement Then Correction

Encouragement Then Correction?

This seems backwards to me!

However this is how the Lord has been moving in my life lately. And I think I’m beginning to understand why.
I have had a growing desire to share my life and shout the victory to God.  I want to jump and shout – look what God has done in and through me!!  He set me free, He healed me and He gave me wisdom and revelation as I read His word and began having a relationship with Him.

We have had several people (some professional doctors) tell my husband and I we should be doing marriage seminars.

It is the desire of our heart to get God’s word out there, to show people how to use the Word of God to overcome, to find strength during the time of change, to have the peace that passes all understanding, and to know how much God loves them.

God wants us to follow His commands because He loves us not because he is some mean, angry God. Our Father knows what will harm us and what will bless us. He gave us His word for a reason and it wasn’t for it to sit on the coffee table or to open only on Sundays (that’s what I use to do, therefore no victory).

Proverbs 30:5-6  “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

So, if I’m going to share God with people, I need to know His word – not add to it nor take away from it.
Here is where some encouragement comes in for me.

I have been growing and walking with the Lord, closely for about 5 years. My husband and I read the Word together and pray when we wake (before getting out of bed) and before turning out the lights for our evening rest. We pray over each other before we go places, we speak God’s word over each other. We have a walk with our Father in our marriage of ‘one’.  That is an amazing encouragement to me. We support each other through everything, be it our flesh or the enemy that comes against us.

Since we have been doing this we are hearing from the Lord more and more. There is a boldness rising up in me to share all the junk God has set me free from, there is a freedom from shame, there is a desire for the church as well as the unsaved to wake up and there is a desire for me to go higher Sometimes going higher means you have some cleaning up to do!

The encouragement has been coming from God, from people, from books and from sermons. Actually it is always coming from God (if I know His voice and don’t listen to the voice of a stranger). There again, you have to have that relationship with the Father so you can know His voice.

This encouragement has been in the form of blessings and I have felt overwhelmed to the point of tears on several occasions. I was at one point saying, “God no more, I’m swimming in blessings” and then I stopped and changed my mind!!!  “Don’t stop Lord, keep giving me blessings in abundance so I can give to others.”

You see I heard the Lord tell me He loves to bless me because I recognize they are from Him. The Lord went on to say, “You are to share these blessings, they are not all yours to keep.”  I began to understand a little better why I was being overwhelmed with blessings.  And it changed my attitude to one of gratitude and joy.  I can’t help but smile, open the door for someone, and serve people.

Now in the midst of this encouragement and blessing from the Lord I’m also hearing and sharing with my husband what the Lord wants me to do.  I shared my discernment and he confirmed I have great discernment.  Here comes a correction through my husband from the Lord. “But even though you are right on with your discernment, you lack patience.”  Ouch! He is right.  He went on to say, “People know you have discernment and they receive it BUT there isn’t always an immediate response or change that will take place, it is a warning and you WAIT for the Lord’s leading, again know what His Word says.”

My husband is so wise!!  And that is another testimony because there was a time, wise or not, I would have been so hateful to him for saying this and would have shut him out for weeks.  I’ve been delivered and I have such a love for my husband and great respect that it gives me joy!

So now on this part of the journey things begin to come against me, against us because my husband and I are one.  And by ‘this part of the journey’ I don’t have one particular one in mind, there have been many, it’s just the Lord gave me revelation recently.   So, you begin to have things come against you that make you question if you heard from God.  Once again know His Word and don’t add to it or take it away.  As long as you speak God’s Word you know it’s the enemy because you’ve made someone uncomfortable.

I remember the days my flesh would scream when someone spoke God’s Word to me, they spoke truth about my situation (and still have that come against me sometimes, and even though I’m not where I need to be but thank God I’m not where I use to be-Joyce Meyer).

So to bring this all together, God gave me step by step direction on what I was to do and told me very clearly, stick with My Word, so I did. When the enemy comes against you he can’t stand against the Word of God.

So I knew what God wanted me to do in several instances, knew attacks would come, didn’t expect my doubt to come or to find I still had fear. But again this was all God preparing me for my next step. So I’m just amazed at how good I feel, how confident in Christ I am and how protected by my God and my husband I am. So I’m just swimming in the joy of the Lord and full of thanksgiving. Actually saying ‘thanks’ just didn’t seem to be enough for all He had, was and is doing in my life – but I couldn’t quit thanking Him and telling Him how much I love Him.

Then, oh no……..I begin to hear a few things here and there from the Lord that are not encouragement, they are warnings, they are showing me where I have not let God have every area of this temple He lives in. I begin to hear – when you pray are your motives right, do they match My Word? Or they are warnings for the future. God wants me to move out and speak and He is showing me things in my flesh that could get in the way. He is showing me there is still some fear and a wall begins to go up, He cannot work with a wall up.
I could tell you more but I think I’ve typed more than I planned already!

These warnings, these corrections, I’m actually beginning to see them as blessings now. Because God is advancing me and He wants me to share His power so these ‘things’ have to be out of me so He can move forward in my speaking, my blogging, in all I do.

I hope I’m more aware of His moving in my life now as I obey Him in my writing, speaking, serving, etc. Because I see how He gives me the joy of the Lord which is my strength and then as He comes in and shows me things to look at and to check in my spirit, there is more of an eagerness to make the changes, to repent and move forward in Him. You may ask, does it still hurt and my flesh cringe?  Yep, sometimes it is a struggle to admit there is something in me that is not of God. Praise God, my spirit overcomes my flesh because God lives in me and my desire is to serve Him!

I will speak the Word of God with boldness and love. I will not back down from His Truth. The Word does not change and God does not lie. But then I will also follow His leading as He is the one that will make the change in someone’s life. They have to go through what I have and recognize it, I can’t make them. But God, precious, wonderful, loving God will help them do the right thing, according to His Word, if they will just trust Him and move through those awful fleshly pains.

I can tell you, check yourself when you find yourself getting angry over the Word of God. I can guarantee you it’s your flesh warring against the Spirit. I’m tired of allowing my flesh to win – no more! I belong to God. I serve God. I believe God.

May God bless each one of you with His abundant joy, strength and peace, as you listen and obey His Word.  You will not regret it and it does get easier!

I am an overcomer in the name of Jesus and so are you!

Our Children and Purpose

Understanding God’s Purpose

We are studying "The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children"
 by Stormie Omartian

Our children are in confusion over what their purpose is.  To me this is understandable as they have way to much worldly influence and not enough God influence.

Our God is not a God of confusion, just reading His word and giving Him thanks will bring in His perfect peace, but God’s voice is being drowned out.

The definition of ‘purpose’ – the object toward which one strives or for which something exists; an aim or a goal. Determination; resolution. (from The Free Dictionary – online)

Using that definition let’s say your child knows they want to attend a school that will help them become a mechanic. They have a sense of purpose. It’s not all lined out from beginning to end but they have a starting point.  Now let’s add God, he will lead them and give them the strength to move forward, even when fear tries to tell them they can’t do it.

Without a leading from God, fear can come in and look for something else to pursue that may cause them to waste years of their lives.

I have seen children with great purpose and direction get to school, walk away from their time with God and things fall apart, their purpose and direction are left at the way side.

Let’s begin to pray and here is what Stormie suggests.
“…take a day every month to fast and pray about that adult child. Ask God to break down any barriers keeping him (her) from receiving a vision for his (her) life a sense of God’s purpose and calling.”

If you child doesn’t seem to have a sense of purpose, lay it at the feet of Jesus and TRUST Him to give them one. Never give up, keep praying and thanking God that He has heard your prayer, your request and even though you don’t see it you know He is moving and working in their hearts, in their lives.

Another important point Stormie makes.
“Don’t beat yourself up if you see your adult child struggling to find his (her) place in the world. And don’t berate him (her) verbally, because it will only alienate him (her) from you and won’t accomplish anything. You can pray, strongly encourage, and get him (her) to talk about himself(herself) and the dreams, hopes, ideas, likes and dislikes he (she) has. Tell him (her) how much you love and admire him (her). Tell him (her) of the good traits and gifts you see in him (her).”

As you pray, ask God to show you what you need to say, what you need to see-why they are unmotivated and then find Scripture to pray over this situation.

And remember, Jeremiah had to wait for an answer to prayer, don’t you think you just might have to wait too?  Jeremiah 42:7
Again I stress the importance of not allowing the lies of satan to come in, don’t give up, keep praying and believing for those precious gifts the Lord has bless you with.

Now for those of you whose child has purpose, praise God! You can give thanks and ask Him to keep that purpose alive in them. Pray and thank Him for directing their steps and helping them not to lose their purpose.

Begin to pray Ephesians 1:18 today!

‘I pray that the eyes of (enter your child’s) names here.) may be enlightened, so that they will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints….”

I Want my Behavior to be a Credit to my Father's Name

Ephesians 4:1-2

1)   I am bound to the Lord, He is my Father and I desire to lead a life worthy of the divine calling He has placed on my life. I want my behavior to be a credit to my Father’s Name.

2)   I want to live in humility and not pride (Proverbs  8:13; 11:2; 16:8), so other will know it is by His strength, His blessings, His guidance that things are accomplished in my life. It is by His power that I have victory over the tests that come my way. (I John 5:4; I Corinthians 15:57) I want to be meek, not self-centered. To reach out to my brothers and sisters in Christ and have patience with them because I love them as Christ loves them. (I John 4:16)  We are called to encourage, correct, build one another up, etc. (I Thessalonians 5:11-18)

I realize there is only one way I will be able to accomplish all that’s in those 2 verses (it’s Christena’s version by the way). It will require me to be in God’s Word daily, to not just read His Word but to ask Him for wisdom, a revelation of what it means and how to apply it to my life today. To not become so busy that I don’t hear Him when He speaks. He does speak today. I can’t tell you how many times I have followed through and found out it was at the right time for someone to receive a phone call or a card in the mail, a visit, flowers, a hug and sometimes a prayer of protection.

It requires me to take my thoughts captive, to stay focused on today and my future and not keep looking back at my past. When I look back at my past it causes me to stumble (I can’t walk forward while I’m looking behind me—I fall every time!) and to use excuses as to why I sinned. That’s not who I am anymore. I’m a new creation! God has a hope and a future for me and now I have to choose to obey His Word or disobey and face the consequences. I choose to let go of my past and walk in a way that will bring abundant life, a way that will help others.

I’m thankful to God for all He has cleansed me from and for His patience. I need to remember He will do this for everyone – the sleepy Christian who is full of pride and wants a position to honor themselves; the drunk at the local bar; the prostitute on the corner; the spouse that cheated; the liar and the list goes on. GOD LOVES ALL OF HIS CHILDREN AND WANTS NONE TO PERISH. HE STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCKS. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING, IT REQUIRES ACTION ON OUR PARTS – FROM THE TIME WE OPEN THE DOOR AND ACCEPT HIM, ALLOWING HIM TO COME IN – TO THE TIME WE GO HOME TO BE WITH HIM FOR ETERNITY. I Timothy 2:3-4; Revelation 3:20)

Again, it points back to knowing His Word, knowing God and that takes time.  So if you are a new Christian, a child of God – don’t be discouraged. Make sure you attend a church that teaches ALL of God’s Word. A church that truly hungers and thirsts to know all there is to know about God and His ways; how we are to live in this world, giving glory, honor and praise to Him.

Get involved in a Bible Study, find others to hang around with that are hungry and thirsty for God. Allow yourself to be corrected and loved on, encouraged and called upon to advance in the Kingdom building. And as you learn to hear the Shepherds voice, you will begin to help others in the correction, loving, encouraging area. We are branches on the Vine, we need each other with all our differences. I believe that is why the greatest commandment is to love one another. Where there is love (not worldly love) it covers a multitude of sins, there is forgiveness and a true desire to see the person set free from bondage's, lies, and pain; a real desire to see the person have victory in their lives.

All this comes from having a relationship not a ‘religion’ with Jesus Christ. If you haven’t accepted the Lord as your Savior yet, close your eyes, bow down OR stand and raise your hands, eyes to heaven and say a prayer (prayer is a conversation with God, don’t make it complicated) Here’s one you can read if you want. Just pour your heart out to Him, for He cares for you!

You can pray --  Father, I come before you and confess my sins, my selfish ways and I’m so tired. Your word in Romans 10:13 says ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’, and I’m calling on you now. Forgive me of my sins and guide me in the way of life, Your life.  I accept you as my Lord and Savior and I desire to understand Your word. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You that You are true to Your Word and You will guide me and I will know my Shepherds voice. I praise You Father, for Your love and I accept Your forgiveness and Your love.

In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen

Good place to start reading is the book of John.

I personally believe in baptism – immersion. It is an outward expression of obedience. Jesus was baptized.

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Titus 3:3-7   whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

And I believe eternal life begins the moment you accept Christ into your life, it’s not ‘fire insurance’. You receive all He promises today, heaven on earth. Why else would he instruct them to pray – ‘your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’.  Matthew 6:10
